Artie B. Michael, 91, passed away Tuesday, March 15th, 2016. She was born August 1st, 1924 in Scott County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Cecil Ottis and Ruth (Wright) Michael. Artie retired from the Mallard/Blue Ribbon Pencil Company and was a member of Porter Christian Church. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Silvia Stahnke, Lynn Thomas Michael, James Michael Smith, Cheryl (John) Prater, Johnny (Lisa) Smith, Tammy (Tim) Crump, Benjamin (Bobbi) Newman, Robin (Thomas) Jordan and Joseph Alan (Leslie) Newman; several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Artie was preceded in death by three sisters, Laura Michael, Wanda Johnson and Doris Newman; one brother, Elmo Michael; one niece, Yvonne Dunaway and one nephew, Wayne Newman, Jr. Visitation will be Saturday, March 19th, from 11:30am until time of service at 1pm at Johnson’s Funeral Home, with Pastor Benny Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be James Michael Smith, Johnny Smith, Matt Crump, Benjamin Newman, Thomas Jordan, Tim Crump and John Prater.
