Obituary for Doris Risk Clark

Doris Risk Clark, 85, widow of Joseph “Joe” Edward Clark, Sr, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late James Riley and Lydia Mullikin Risk.

Active in her community, Doris was a former Georgetown City Council member, member of the Variance Board and the Art Consortium. She was active with the Writer’s Club and was a two time Woman of the year in the Democratic Woman’s Club.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Bates and Peggy (Patrick) Qualls; sisters, Betty Devers and Martha Moss; grandchildren, Tammy Humphrey, Aaron Hinton and Dylan R. Clark; great grandchildren, Riley Clark, Adam Humphrey and Evan Hinton; and special friend, Fannie Highlander. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Joseph “Jody” Edward Clark II and brother, Richard Thomas Risk.

Funeral services will be 10 AM Saturday at Johnson’s Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Georgetown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Shane Moss, Aaron Hinton, Adam Humphrey, Dylan Clark, Terry Devers, Tracy Highlander, Will Allen and Stan Dotson. Honorary bearers will be Gaylord Highlander, Bruce Bryant, James Bates, Patrick Qualls, David Hinton, Calvin Smith and Steve Cooksey. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Friday. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Arts Consortium Incorporated, PO Box 1126, Georgetown, KY 40324 or Scott County Genealogical Society, c/o Scott County Public Library, 104 South Bradford Lane, Georgetown, KY 40324-2335.
