William "Billy" Duff Thompson, 76, husband of Farris Lee Barrett Thompson, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. Born in Georgetown, KY, he was the son of the late Ross and Helen Thompson.

A retired dispatcher with the University of Kentucky, Billy was an avid bowler, loved traveling with his wife and family as well as a big UK basketball fan that bled blue. A former Eagle Scout, he loved horses, especially thoroughbreds and attending the races at Keeneland. A devoted family man, he had no biological children but was blessed with bonus children and grandchildren and loved taking family vacations.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his bonus sons, Mark (Cara) Crowley and Marlon Crowley; the daughter he always wanted, Angela (Jimmy) Watts; brothers, Tommy (Debbie) Thompson and Ross Thompson; his "grandchildren" Amanda (Adam) Petty Allen Crowley and William "Will" James Watts; great grandchildren, Amelilya and Ayla Petty; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be 6 PM Thursday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 PM till service time.
