William Lee Lay, 91, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025. Born in Harrison County, KY, he was the son of the late Reuben Andy and Bessie Skinner Lay.

A tobacco and dairy farmer for many years, his true passion were his horses. He trained, bought and sold as well as barrel raced until his late 80's. A veteran of the US Army, he served as a tobacco grader for the United States Government after he retired from farming.

He is survived by his children, Janet (Dennis) Jones, David Lay, James (Marsha) Lay, Mark Lay and John (Crystal) Lay; twelve grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Hubert, Lay, Russell Thomas Lay, Lucinda Delaney, Janie Royalty, Ora Ellen Halfhill and Ioma Beckham.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Dale Atkins. Burial will follow at the Corinth Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time.
