William 'Bill' Arthur Janow, 76, of Lexington, KY passed away peacefully July 1, 2025. He was husband to Artie Mullen Janow for 51 years, father to Kristin Janow Santiamagro and William Ryan Janow, grandfather to Eddie Santiamagro.
Bill was known for his exuberance sense of humor. He was a graduate of Highland Heights High School ' 67, attended UK, where he was a member of ATO. For LFUCG, he worked rose from land surveyor to Municipal Civil Engineer. Enlisted in the Army Reserves serving in the100th Infantry Division, Navy Reserve Sea Bees, and the 190th Calvary Scout Battalion during Desert Storm. Was awarded the Army Commendation Medal twice, the Army Achievement Medal, retired as a Sergeant First Class. Bill was PTO president for several years at St. Peter Paul Schools. Was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel. Bill served as President of the American Public Works Association Kentucky. Volunteered in numerous organizations such as 4-H, Humane Society, and Kentucky Underground.
Visitation is 5-7pm Monday, July 7, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home in Georgetown, KY. A celebration of life will be 11:30am July 8, 2025, burial to follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Donations can be made in his name to the Humane Society.
