William "Billy" Bradley Barnes Jr., 66, husband of Teresa (Aines) Barnes, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024. He was born May 25, 1957 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of the late William Bradley and Nona Lee (Gullett) Barnes. Billy served in the United States Army and was a devoted member of American Legion Post 24 of Georgetown, where he served on the Honor Guard. He was also a member of Old Paris Road Church Of God and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Billy enjoyed bluegrass music and played with the church musicians for many years. He was an avid University of Tennessee fan and a Harley Davidson motorcycle enthusiast. Billy loved to spend time with his family and friends any chance he could.
In addition to his beloved wife Teresa, Billy is survived by his daughter, Chelsea Barnes; three sisters, Betty (Teddy) Porter, Vickie Ruth and Bonnie (Earl) West; two brothers, Archie Barnes and Ronnie (Tina) Barnes; his father-in-law, Ed Aines; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Aines and Shiela Barnes; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Billy was preceded in death by three brothers, James Barnes, Benny F. Barnes and Gayle Barnes; two sisters, Lona Alexander and Beverly Graves; one sister-in-law, Margaret Barnes; one brother-in-law, Russell Ruth; his mother-in-law, Irene Aines.
Visitation will be Monday, March 18, 2024 at Trinity Assembly Of God, 1220 Cincinnati Pike, Georgetown from 9am until time of service at 1pm with his life-long friend Pastor Jack Whitaker and Pastor Joseph Grant officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 24 Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Greg Aines, Frank Young, Rusty Ruth, Ronnie Barnes, Archie Barnes, Michael Wilson, Jacob Strong and Chris Ruth. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Aines, Randall Aines, Buddy Wyres, Billy's nephews and all the members of American Legion Post 24.
