Virgil Chapman Marshall, 89, widower of Mildred "Millie" Williamson Marshall, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023. Born in Sadieville, KY, he was the son of the late Humphrey and Sarah Wright Marshall.

A retired meat cutter with Foodtown, he also worked as a groundskeeper for different businesses in Scott County and was an accomplished bowler, bowling a perfect game in 2008. He was an active member of Porter Christian Church, serving as a Deacon and volunteering when possible.

He is survived by his sons, Keith Marshall and Lane (Mary) Marshall; grandchildren, Patrick Marshall, Camille Marshall, Rees Marshall, Evan (Tania) Sharp and Erin (Matthew) Alred; daughter-in-law, Kim Marshall. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his children, Dawn Marshall and Rand Marshall; brother, William Marshall; and sisters, Elaine Marshall, Ina Thompson and Ayda Smith.

Funeral services will be conducted by Friday, December 29 at Johnson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care.
