Victor Duane Perkins, 85, widower of Patricia Ann Perkins, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024. Born in Lexington, KY, he was the son of the late James William "JW" and Mabel Morgerson Perkins.

A member of Stamping Ground Christian Church, he was a true farmer from a young age, serving as a member of the Future Farmers of America and receiving the 1964 Outstanding Young Farmer by the Lexington Junior Chamber of Commerce. He was a Master Conservationist and received the 2010 Pioneer Farmer award in Scott County. Truly living and working the farm, he raised 52 crops of tobacco, countless cattle as well as hay and other crops.

He is survived by his children, Paige Perkins Anderson, Kelli Renee Perkins and Bradford Allen Perkins; daughter-in-law, Beth Perkins; grandchildren, April Michelle (Wylie) Clayton, Phillip Duane (Constance) Perkins, Sarah Kimberly Perkins, Brandon Paul Perkins and Austin Douglas (Taylor) Anderson; great grandchildren, Kayla Renee Ferguson, Logan Ray Clayton, Lynnlee, John and Luke Perkins, Kamryn and Lakynn Anderson, Cash, Carter, Price and Dawson Perkins; great great grandchildren, Emersyn and Braxton Ferguson. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Duane Perkins; a grandson, Dwayne Allen Perkins; brother, James L. "Jimmy" Perkins; daughter-in-law, Mary Perkins; son-in-law, Doug Anderson.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Thursday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Lexington Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Phillip Perkins, Brandon Perkins, Austin Anderson, Logan Clayton, Doug Waller and Randy Perkins. Honorary bearers will be Wylie Clayton and Steve Popp. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
