Velta Woods Riddle, 74, wife of Steven O. Riddle, went to Heaven, Thursday, October 23, 2025. Born May 2, 1951, she was the daughter of Francie Clark Joseph and the late Marcus Woods.

A long- time member of Stamping Ground Christian Church, Velta loved Daytona Beach vacations for over 50 years with her children and grandchildren as well as yearly trips to the Smokey Mountains to see the Christmas lights. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her mother and husband of 55 years & 8 months, she is survived by her children, Steve (Missy) Riddle and Nikki (Cori) Calloway; sisters, Mary Woods, Lucille (Gary) Macintyre; brothers, Larry (Debbie) Joseph, Delmar (Teresa) Joseph and Billy (Jeannie) Joseph; grandchildren, Chase & Colton Calloway, Gentry (Tyler) Booth, Peyton (Robert) Puckett; great grandchildren, Fallon & Sloane Booth; sister-in-law, Nancy (Roy) Pacey; brother-in-law, Kenny (Carol) Riddle; and her little pug, Tori. She was also preceded in death by her grandchildren, Hope Offutt and Lucas Riddle; brother, Doug Woods; and her pugs, Puggy and Gizzy; all that she is happy to be with in Heaven. Steven looks forward to the day to see her again in heaven.
A special thanks to friends Gina Perry, Missy, Bonda, Alice, Jamie, Kim and Dianne. A very special thanks to Bluegrass Care Navigators (Hospice) and Caretenders. All were so kind and a Godsend to the family.

As per Velta's wishes, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Care navigators, Stamping Ground Christian Church, UK Children's Hospital or St. Judes Children Research Hospital.
