Obituary

Thomas Michael Pogue, infant son of Samuel and Audrey Linville Pogue, passed away in Lexington, Kentucky on Thursday, July 24, 2025.

In addition to his parents, Thomas' spirit will live on through his siblings, Autumn Pogue, Peyton Penley and Lincoln Penley; maternal grandparents, Michael "Grumpy" and Sandy Linville; paternal grandparents, Steve (Joanie Trimpe) Pogue and Lydia (Darrell Pettigrew); maternal uncles Chris (Catherine) Linville and Scott (Michelle) Linville; and paternal uncle Chris (Lydia) Pogue. There are countless others Thomas' spirit will live on through; the list is truly endless.

While Thomas may have only survived 32 minutes with us here on Earth, we had 42 weeks of getting to know the boy we love so much. He, like his momma, loved tuna sandwiches, slushies, and cheese sticks. We also learned he did not like when mom and dad would wake him up from sleeping & in return he gave mom lots of reassuring (painful) kicks back. He loved to stick his butt up against his mom's belly button for butt pats during the day. He had a game he played with his dad where they would both poke endlessly at mom's stomach until she'd make them stop.

He is a sweet, beautiful boy who we already know has met his great grandpa Galen "The Original Grumpy" Linville, great grandpa Bill Pogue, great grandma Audrey Gilmore, and others we've lost before.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Let You Fly

I had to say goodbye,
before you opened your eyes
I held you tight,
unable to let you fly.

When your heart beats again,
will you send me a sign?
Even if it's a breeze of wind
or a single drop of rain.

You may fly away
but you're still in my heart.
The voice I never heard,
heavy on my heart.

I knew it was time,
to let you fly
