Thelma J. Martin Collins, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born on October 7, 1936 in Jeff, Kentucky, daughter of the late Raymond D. and Lettie (Smith) Martin. Thelma retired from Sloan's Market where she had been a cashier. She enjoyed watching sports and was an avid UK basketball fan and she loved to garden and work in her flower beds.

Thelma is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Jeffrey "Jeff" Gibson; her grandson Jeffrey Thomas Gibson, whom she absolutely adored; her dear cousin who was like a sister to her, Bevie Patrick; her late companion's son, Robert "Bob" and Lesa Mariner and their children, Katelin Mariner, Nicholas "Nick" Mariner and Haley Mariner and Bob's brother, Bret Mariner. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her two brothers, Olvin Martin and James Martin and her companion, Bartholomew "Burt" Mariner.

Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 11am until time of service at 12pm with Pastor Tony Prince and Pastor David Calvert officiating. Private burial will be held at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens with Thomas Gibson, Jeff Gibson, Joe Yates, Rodney Helton, Kyle Douglas, Mike Gibson and Bob Mariner serving as pallbearers.
