Tempa Condalea "Connie" Sanders Payne, 72, widow of Gary Joe Payne, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024. Born in Pikeville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Burton and Lois Sanders.

A former nurse, she worked with the state Office of the Inspector General. She was a long-time member of Gano Baptist Church, enjoyed travelling, cooking and loved to bake for her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Audra (Gerald) Marcum, Leandra Porter and Gaven Payne; brother, Randall (Marian) Sanders; and grandchildren, Abbi and Savannah Marcum.

Graveside service will be 11 AM Thursday at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
