Susannah Herrick Prather, 77, wife of John B. Prather, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Susan Johnston Herrick.

A graduate of Transylvania College, she worked in the equine industry, including a term as Secretary and Manager of the Thoroughbred Club of America under Presidents Ted Bates and Charles "Hoss" Nuckols. She later held positions with the Jockey Club Statistical Bureau and as a researcher with Equibase.

Susannah enjoyed crafts, gardening, and volunteering at the AMEN house. She loved social activities and adventures with friends, to many of whom she was affectionately known as Momma Dragon.

In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her daughters, Laura Autumn Prather and Jessica Bourne (Deric Miller) Prather; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be 11 AM Tuesday at Georgetown Cemetery, conducted by The Rev. Karen Booth. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the AMEN House, PO Box 211, Georgetown, KY 40324.
