Sue Hamm Wilson, 92, widow of Harold McCoy Wilson, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2026. Born in Jessamine County, KY, she was the daughter of the late Shirley and Rella Dean Bogie Hamm.
She attended Eastern Kentucky University and taught school prior to her marriage. For more than 30 years, Sue worked alongside her husband as owner of Wilson's Shoes. She was a Past President of the Woman's Association of Georgetown College, enjoyed domino's with friends and treasured her time with family. A long-time member of Faith Baptist Church, she participated in many activities within the church and was a member of the Joy Group.
She is survived by her children, Betty Wilson (Rick) Covington, James Shirley Wilson, both of Georgetown and Alan McCoy (Becky) Wilson, Plano, TX; grandchildren, James Thomas (Mary Katherine) Wilson, Stephen Eric Wilson, Amy Wilson (Kendall Cosby) Marshall, John Richard Covington, III, Benjamin McCoy Covington, Rachel Wilson (Matt) Carothers and Michael Steven (Emily) Wilson; great grandchildren, Jalen, Trey and Ellie Marshall, Sarabeth Cosby as well as Rachel's three children, and Vivi and Emmi Wilson; and sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hamm. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Atwood Wilson, and her brother, Donald Hamm; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Wilson.
Honoring her as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Barnet and Kent Snodgrass.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday at Faith Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Bob Fox and Dr. Greg Earwood. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Sunday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church, 116 Pocahontas Trail, Georgetown, KY 40324.
