Sherry H. Taylor, 64, wife of Donald Taylor, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2024 at home. Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of the late Kerry and Thelma Jean Hamilton.

She was retired from the Lexington Herald-Leader, where she was an award-winning manager with the circulation department for both McClatchy and Knight Ridder. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith, enjoyed reading, but, above all else, was dedicated to her family.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Stormy (Cody) Payne, Georgetown, KY, Jason Nathaniel (Vernisha) Taylor, Goldsboro, NC and Jonathan Ray (Destinee) Taylor, Glasgow, KY; brothers, Rick (Mary Jo) Hamilton and Gary Hamilton; grandchildren, Kiara Taylor, Ava Taylor, Kennedy Taylor, Kassidy Taylor and Kynlee Taylor.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Jonathan Taylor, Ben Murphy, Robert Scott, John Honerkamp, Greg Asbury and Jeff Williams. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday. Everyone attending is encouraged to dress casual.
