Scott Ray Gilleland, 55, husband of Angela Renee Myers Gilleland, passed away Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Born in Carrollton, IL, he was the son of the late Carl Ray and Linda Miller Gilleland.

A 1986 graduate of Warren Central High School, he attended Western Kentucky University and married his high school sweetheart, Angela. He was a Senior Field Service Engineer with Messer Cutting Systems, enjoyed woodworking and reading fantasy and sci-fi. A baseball and softball fan, he loved sporting Atlanta Braves gear when he could, joking with family and friends and time at the beach, especially with family.

In addition to his wife of 38 years, he is survived by his children, George Wesley Scott (Karen Stevens) Gilleland, Jacqueline Danielle (Jesse) Welch and Kaylee Nicole Gilleland; granddaughter, Abigail Renee Welch; honorary daughter, April Myers Huff; honorary son, Blake Cropper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including honorary nephew, Evan Grant Jenkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Gilleland.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Bro. Brian Carson. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday and 11 Am till service time on Saturday.
