Ruth Ann Wade Brown, 85, widow of Billy Boyd Brown, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2025. She was born April 26, 1939, in Lexington, KY, daughter of the late William and Emma Lee Marsh Wade.

A lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Ruth Ann held multiple positions in Women's Relief Society, the oldest women's organized organization in America, including President, counselor and teacher. She held multiple positions in the primary organization, including music director, teaching many songs to children. Alongside her husband, she spent 3 years with the LDS church building mission, building four churches in that time. She was faithful to her calling and attended the Temple as often as possible.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and most recently coloring. She was always open to a joke and even had an adventurous side to her.

She is survived by her four daughters, Lawona (Charles Ray, Jr) Brown, Monica (Chris) Jacobs, Mary Alethea Turner and Jessica Ruth Brown; five sons, Leslie (Cindy) Brown, Kelyn (Rachel) Brown, Douglas Clay (Robin) Brown, Frederick (Diana) Brown and Zenos Boyd Brown; one honorary son, Godwin Garuba from Africa; thirty-three grandchildren; seventy-four great-grandchildren, twenty great-great-grandchildren; special god-daughter Scarlett Nicole Ohnheiser; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friend, Spencer Hanson.

Visitation will be 5-9 PM Friday at Johnson' s Funeral Home. Funeral and committal services will be private. Serving as casket bearers will be her sons, grandsons, and sons-in-law. Honorary bearers will be her daughters and granddaughters. There will be a gathering at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 215 Wellington Way, Georgetown, following the committal service at the cemetery.
