Russell Leon Taylor, 73, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024, born in Georgetown, KY. He was the son of the late Harry, Sr. and Sarah Wilkins Taylor.
A retired worker for Trane, he was an avid basketball fan, especially concerning UK, and was quite famous for his own basketball skills at Georgetown High School where he was offered a scholarship by a junior college in Nebraska. Given the nickname of "Hump" by many, he also had a passion for fishing and loved his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Aaron Taylor; daughter, Andrea (Jennifer Daniels) Simmons; brothers, Harry (Ella) Taylor Jr., Stephen (Mary Ann) Taylor, George (Missy) Taylor; sisters, Cathy (Walter) Young and Jocelyn Smith; grandchild Tiara Taylor and special companion, Anita Taylor along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Emma Wilson and Nannie B. Taylor.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, April 28th 2024, at 5:00pm, at the Ed Davis Center in Georgetown, KY. Visitation will be 3:00pm until time of service.
