Robert Matthew Adams, Jr., beloved husband, brother, and son, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on August 11, 2024 after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Karen Cooper Adams, his sons Joshua (20) and Jack Adams (15), his father Robert "Buffalo" Matthew Adams, Sr., his mother Mary Lou Barnett (Len Barnett), sisters Heather Adams and Rene Holt, and brothers Trevor Adams and Nick Adams (Heather Caldwell Adams).
Born in Lexington, KY in 1973 to Robert and Mary Lou Adams, he attended Lexington Catholic High School, graduating in 1991. He then attended Tennessee Tech, before moving to Las Vegas. While living in Las Vegas Robert met his wife Karen and they relocated to Georgetown, KY where the couple were married in 2003 and had two children.
Robert's love of learning transitioned him from managing FedEx Office stores to being a financial advisor for Thrivent and Prudential, and most recently identifying a passion for teaching. He was most proud of re-enrolling at Tennessee Tech to finish his degree, earning his Bachelor of Science in May 2022. He taught math at Grant County High School for the 2022-2023 school year.
A huge lover of sports, Robert loudly and proudly supported the University of Kentucky basketball and football teams, and the Cincinnati Reds and Bengals. He was an ever-present supporter of his family and close friends, the go-to whenever anything needed to be fixed. He was an exquisite golfer, mechanic, and griller. He loved to travel with his family and was always up for whatever fun came next. His strength and brilliance will be greatly missed.
Friends and relatives are welcome to join in celebrating a life well lived on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Posh Affairs (401 Outlet Center Dr Suite 350-380, Georgetown) from 3-7 PM.
