Richard (Dick) Eugene Ray, 86, husband of Janet Miller Ray, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2025. Born in Ross County, OH, he was the son of the late Roy Edgar and Alma Post Ray.

A "jack of all trades", Dick worked in car sales, owned an service station and most recently, managed the Soapy Joe's car wash in Georgetown. A proud Navy veteran, he was a member of the American Legion Post 24, was a NASCAR fanatic, enjoyed golf and loved to travel, traveling to all 50 states.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by his children, Valerie J (Rick) Hughes and Jeff (Diana) Ray; sisters, Patty Hale Smith, Brenda Corvin and Darlene Parks; grandchildren, Jessica Adams, Travis Ray and step grandchild, Amber Curran; great grandchildren, Audrey Elizabeth Ray and Layla Grace Ray and step great grandchildren, Annalise and Braydon Rice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Donald Ray and Jim Ray.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Chap. Charlie Brown. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or American Legion Post 24.
