Ray Eugene Benson, 96, husband of Frances Murlene South Benson, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025. Born in Cynthiana, KY, he was the son of the late James and Sarah Cole Benson.

The former owner of Benson Roofing, Ray enjoyed listening to bluegrass music with his dog by his side. He loved being outdoors, working in his yard or just sitting in the backyard soaking up the sun.

In addition to his wife of 72 years, he is survived by his children, Ron Benson and Julie Westerfield; sister, Ann Hunter; grandchildren, Brian (Candy) Benson and Jason Benson; great grandchildren, Cameron, Amara and Emma Benson. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers and a sister.

Graveside service will be 2 PM Wednesday at Crestlawn Memorial Cemetery.
