Rand Leslie Marshall, 62, husband of Kimberly (Evans) Marshall, passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2023. He was born August 29, 1961 in Georgetown, Kentucky, son of Virgil Chapman Marshall and the late Mildred "Millie" LeVerne (Williamson) Marshall.
Rand was a member of Tates Creek Presbyterian Church in Lexington and he served on the board for Providence Christian School and The Amen House in Georgetown. He graduated from Georgetown College and The University of Kentucky College of Law. Rand spent his career with the Scott County Attorney's Office, retiring in 2022 as Scott County Attorney. He enjoyed softball, working out at the gym and he was an avid horse racing and Dallas Cowboys fan. Rand loved to listen to his favorite band, Night Ranger. Rand's family and friends meant the world to him.
In addition to his beloved wife Kim, affectionately known as "Kimber" and his father Virgil, Rand is survived by his children, Evan (Tania) Sharp, Erin Sharp (Matthew) Alred and Rees Marshall; his four grandchildren, Christopher Sharp, Anderson Sharp, Andrew Alred and Emmett Alred; two brothers, Keith Marshall and Lane (Mary) Marshall; His in-laws, Katherine and Mike Paynter, Kevan and Sue Evans, Keith and Claudia Evans; his nieces and nephews, Camille Marshall, Patrick Marshall, Josh and Jennifer Evans, Jenny Evans, Heather and Richard Holmes, Rachel and Matt Wilhoite, Noelle Evans. Besides his mother, Rand was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Marshall; his maternal grandparents, J.C. "Buck" and Evelyn (Mullannix) Williamson; his paternal grandparents, Humphrey and Sarah Marshall.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 6 from 5 to 8pm at Johnson's Funeral Home. Services will be held at Harmony Christian Church on Thursday, December 7 at 1pm with Reverend Robert "Bob" Franz officiating. Private burial will be in Porter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to the donor's charity of choice in Rand's memory.
