Obituary

Murvin Bryan Allen, 84, husband of Sharon Averbeck Allen, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025. Born in Mt. Vernon, IL, he was the son of the late Virgil Dee and Irene Nordstrom Allen.

A patriotic and proud American, Murvin served in the US Navy as a SeeBee before moving forward in the US Air Force and later retiring after 21 years of service. During his retirement, he served as a general contractor for 15 years and worked throughout the pacific northwest as a long haul and military delivery driver. He loved nature, all animals, but was especially fond of his pugs. A member of American Legion Post 24, he was a man of tremendous faith and was a faithful member of Ss. Francis & John Parish at Cardome.

In addition to his wife of 61 years, he is survived by his children, Charlotte Allen (Joseph) Jones, Murvin Patrick (Tauna) Allen and Cathleen Allen (Skeeter) Stokley; siblings, Bonnie Hoover and Dee (Diane) Allen; as well as 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12 PM Wednesday at Ss. Francis & John Parish at Cardome, conducted by Rev. Linh Nguyen. Burial will follow at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Pug Rescue, PO Box 6543, Louisville, KY 40206.
