Monty Ray Whitaker, 69, passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Monty was born in Cynthiana, Kentucky, the son of the late Mary "Pogie" Pope Whitaker and Ray Whitaker.

Monty served in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years and was devoted to his country. Those who knew him knew how patriotic he was, being born on July 4.

Monty earned his bachelor's in electrical engineering from Western Kentucky University. He worked as an electrical engineer for Boeing International, Lockheed, and retired from Adient. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time at Lowe's. Monty loved to collect die-cast cars along with other collectables from around the world. He was a loving husband to his wife of 35 years, a caring dad to his two children, and an excited soon-to-be grandfather

Monty is survived by his loving wife, Tracy Whitaker; son Nicholas "Nick" (Brandi) Whitaker; daughter, Anne Marie Whitaker; brother, Dale Whitaker; grandson, Caleb; as well as many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held at Ss. Francis & John Parish at Cardome at 11AM on Monday, May 18. Visitation will be 10-11, with inurnment at St. Francis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Legion Post 24, 220 Connector Rd, Georgetown, KY 40324.
