Michael "Mike" A. VanName II, 43, husband of Kristin (Hopkins) VanName, passed away on Sunday, May 9th, 2021. He was born March 22nd, 1978 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, son of Janet (Day) VanName and Michael A. VanName. Mike was a irrigation specialist and worked with his brother at Big Blue Irrigation. He loved to take things apart, repair them and then put them back together. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and his dogs. Mike was always doing things for other people and enjoyed making people happy. In addition to his wife and parents, Mike is survived by two daughters, Alexa Hopkins and Brianna VanName; his son, Austin E. Brooks; his sister, Cynthia Casteel; two brothers, Gregory VanName and Christopher Shafer; three nieces, Candace VanName, Chloie VanName and Chelsea Satterfield; one nephew, Deshaen Shafer. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 12th from Noon until 12:45pm at Johnson's Funeral Home, directly followed by graveside services at 1pm at Georgetown Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be J.T. Wise, Dwight Gibson, James Bailey, Ronald Lee Butler, Marty Blair and Ritchie Bryant.
