Matthew Charles Lucas, 46, husband of LaRena Matherly Lucas, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025. Born in Marion, OH, he was the son of Vicki Hopkins (William) Bryant and the late Kenis Lucas.

A former group leader with TMMK, Matthew was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was an active member of Journey Church in Winchester, KY where he served on the security team, was an excellent carpenter, but, most of all, cherished time with his family and being "Pap Pap" to his grandchildren. An amazing dad and father, he understood the value of prayers and was a true follower of Christ.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Alyssa Lucas and Matthew Lucas; step children, Hayley (Ryan) Ford and Kaydence Huff; sister, Rhonda Thornsberry; brothers, Kenny (April) Lucas, Todd (Haylie) Lucas and Jamie (Elizabeth) Lucas; step brother, Mike Lucas; grandchildren, Johnathan Ford and Kashton Engler; as well as a host of nieces, nephews and his church family. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-sister, Laura Lucas.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home. A memorial service will be 1 PM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at Journey Church, 108 Hemlock Rd, Winchester, KY, conducted by Pastor Garrick Williams.
