Martha L. Gunnell, 78, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Born in Georgetown, KY, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Dorothy Moreland Winters.

A former administrative assistant with Terminix, Martha enjoyed camping, especially with family. An avid reader and game player, she collected owls, enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends and cherished her "dates" with the 66'ers. A long time member of White Sulphur Baptist Church, she loved her time in worship and cherished being "Bobo" to young family members. Martha's personality and warming smile would light up a room. She was known for her love of bright and colorful leggings.

She is survived by her brother, Ralph (Rhonda) Winters; niece Keri (Gene) Keyse; nephews, Brian (Heather) Winters, Jeremy (Amanda) Winters and Adam Winters; sister-in-law, Nikki Winters; devoted friend, Marjorie Brewer; as well as five great nieces and two great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, James Rudy Winters.

A special thank you to the staff at Dover Manor for their love and care to Martha while a patient.

Visitation will be 5-8 PM Thursday at Johnson's Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
