Maria R. Martinez beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away
Friday March 7, 2025, in the afternoon. She was a beloved aunt to so many nieces and nephews and she passed in the comfort of her family by her side. She was born on July 4, 1934 and lived to be 90 years of age. Maria was the fourth of five children born to Antonio and Julia Amaya Cervantes. She was born in Muzquiz Coahuila Mexico, a beautiful village on the foot of the Eastern Sierra Madre Mountain range.
When she was young, she enjoyed the outdoors, climbing mountains in her native land. She had a deep appreciation and love for her family and friends and thankful to God for having so many wonderful people in her life who loved and appreciated her good deeds. She was a woman of great faith and became a Jehovah's Witness which sustained her through her final years.
Survivors: Children, Diana Martinez (Daughter), Carlos Martinez (Liz Cantu), Son (Daughter - in - law), Omar (Linda) Martinez, Son (Daughter - in - law), Cesar (Lucy) Martinez Son (Daughter - in- law), Jose Juan Cervantes (Brother). Grandchildren, Fabian Isaac Soriano (Raquel Hernandez), Blu Soriano (Melina), Julian Soriano, Bianca C. Martinez, Alain C. Martinez, Amanda A. Martinez, Amanda Sue Martinez & Rosie Martinez. Great Grandchildren, Fabian Isaac Soriano II., Scarlet Rose Soriano, & Draven Lee Soriano.

Preceded in Death: (Parents) Antonio Cervantes & Julia Amaya Cervantes, (Sisters): Socorro Olivares/Manuel Olivares, Maria de la luz Sifuentes/Felipe Sifuentes, & Dolores Pena/ Antonio Raul Pena.
Services in accordance with her final wishes will be on March 17, 2025, at Ortiz Mortuary and will include viewing and visitation in the morning, some words of thanksgiving from members of her congregation. Burial will follow in the afternoon at San Fernando Cemetery number 2, in San Antonio, Texas. She will be interred alongside her late husband Aguedo Martinez.
