Johnny Fred Salas, 49, was born on April 8, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, and went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2026.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Fred Wechsler Jr. He is survived by his beloved son, Jacob Salas; his girlfriend, MaryRuth Coultress; his mother, Frances Wechsler; and his brother, Jason F. Salas.

Johnny was a dedicated mechanic who truly enjoyed working on vehicles. He had a passion for fishing at lakes and rivers and could often be found casting a line in his favorite spots. He also loved dancing to all types of music, especially Tejano and country, bringing joy and laughter to those around him.

Johnny will be remembered for his hardworking spirit and the love he had for his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:00 PM in the Ortiz Mortuary, Inc. Chapel A.
