Joe Payne, 72, husband of Tempa "Connie" Payne, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2022. Born in Morehead, KY, January 26, 1950 and was a graduate of Morehead State University.

The former owner of Payne's Welding, he was a retired fabricator with TMMK. He enjoyed restoring old cars, was an avid Mopar racing fan and always like to fish or spend time in his vegetable garden.

In addition to his wife of 36 years, he is survived by his children, Gaven Payne, Audra (Gerald) Marcum and Leandra Colley; siblings, Richard Payne, Jamey Payne and Ella Emerson; and grandchildren, Abbi Marcum and Savannah Marcum. He was preceded in death by his father, James E. Payne, Sr and his brother, James E. Payne, Jr.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Harry Hargis. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time on Friday.
