Jesus Manuel
Reyes
Feb 28, 1959 — Apr 29, 2026
Jesus Manuel Reyes, age 67, passed away on April 29, 2026. He was born to Manuel and Elida Reyes in San Antonio, Texas on February 28, 1959.
In addition to his parents, Jesus was preceded in death by his beloved son, David Reyes, and his brother, Ruben Reyes. He is survived by his son, Manuel "Manny" Reyes and his granddaughter Cairistiana Reyes. He is also survived by his siblings, Ludivina (Arturo), Elida (George), Irma (Guadalupe), Esmeralda (Steve), Patricia (Richard), Javier, Martin (Linda), and Veronica, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He made many friends throughout his life and during his time living at Ernest C. Olivares Senior Community Apartment. Jesus spent his last months surrounded by the compassionate and supportive staff at The Heights at Medical Center Nursing Home, and his family is thankful for the kindness they showed him.
A graduate of Lanier High School, Class of 1977, Jesus was a proud fan of the San Antonio Spurs, San Francisco 49ers, and Houston Astros— if a game was happening, you could count on him to be watching. He was a simple man at heart who found joy in life's everyday moments. He loved when his family would bring him fresh fruit and Mexican food. He also enjoyed eating ice cream and listening to music. Jesus had a natural sense of humor that made it easy for him to make people laugh and feel comfortable around him.
He was especially proud of his sons and found great happiness in watching "Manny" perform as a member of the UTSA Marching Band. He was strong in his faith and often wore a rosary around his neck, keeping it close to his heart. Above all, he loved his family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Ortiz Mortuary, located at 3114 Culebra Rd.
