Jerry Wayne Gilbreath, 79, husband of Sue Anderson Gilbreath, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026. Born in Harlan, KY, he was the son of the late John and Vivian Phillips Gilbreath.

Jerry lived his Christian faith in many capacities across his lifetime with purpose and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. He was involved in church from an early age, and volunteered in various positions such as Youth Group Leader with his wife, Head of Care Ministry and Life Group Ministry, and Short-term Missionary with his wife, Sue, in Jordan (Christian and Missionary Alliance). He was a member of Gano Baptist Church.

Jerry's career included computer programing for Gates and Clark Equipment, before working 27 years and retiring from Parker Seal as a Supply Chain Manager. In addition, Jerry operated a battery business, a balloon business and sold real estate in the evenings.

Jerry was an avid University of TN fan, and loved to watch college basketball games. He could often be found on the golf course, where he made friends easily and enjoyed golf scrambles. He collected classic cars and competed in various car shows across the country, meeting up with friends in his car club.

In addition to his wife (Sue) of 59 years, he is survived by his children, Julie (Kevin) Ball and Michael (Tammy) Gilbreath; grandchildren Noah Ball, Brittany Gilbreath, and Jacob (Abby) Gilbreath; and great grandchild, Josephina Gilbreath as well as a brother, James R. Gilbreath.

A celebration will be Saturday, April 11, 2:00pm at Gano Baptist Church, 212 Bevins Lane, Georgetown, KY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons (online donations can be made at "sendtheword.org" or envelopes will be available at the church), or donations to Christian and Missionary Alliance, One Alliance Place, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068.
