Jerome "Jay" Jefferson, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025. Jay was born in Carlisle, KY the son of Gerald R. Jefferson and Wanda Abnee Jeffferson and was a long-time resident of Sadieville and Nicholasville, KY.

Jay was the loving and fund Dad to Jerome "Little Jay" Jefferson who preceded him in death, Richard Jefferson, who preceded him in death, Ashly Soper (Trae') and Joseph "JoeJoe" Jefferson (Olivia). He was the proud Papaw to Alexsis (Cameron), Brayden, Tigg, Gracin, Carson, Adrian, Gabe and even prouder Great Papaw to Callan and Carrington.

He retired early from The Lexington Housing Authority. He truly loved his time at LHA and all the wonderful people he met along the way. Prior to his stroke in 2007, he enjoyed spending time with his family, caring for his animals, collecting movies and music, video games and working on car/home audio systems.

Aside from the kids, grandkids and great grandkids he cherished, Jay is also survived by his siblings, Terry, Nikki and Missy as well as his Barbara, who was always the love of his life and greatest friend.

In addition to his two sons, Jay was preceded in death by his twin brother, Tyrone and a little brother, Mike Jefferson.

In honor of his wishes, no services will be held. We encourage you to love an animal in his memory and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jessamine County Animal Shelter in his name.
