Jean Massie Sparks, 92, widow of Donald T. Sparks, passed away Friday, August 11, 2023. Born in Cincinnati, OH, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mamie Maybriar Massie.

Jean was a former tourism hostess for the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau for numerous years and events. After her retirement, she became a volunteer and even more active member of Sts. Francis and John Catholic Church.

She is survived her step-sons, William Steven (Tess) Sparks, Donald T. Sparks, II and Leslie Keith (Reno Sansone) Sparks; brother, Jack Massie; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Pattie Sue Rhodus; sons, Michael Ray Rhodus and Mark Rhodus; sister, Mary Asher; and brother, Raymond Massie.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Tuesday at St. Francis Catholic Church, conducted by Rev. Linh Nguyen. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home, with a Rosary and Prayer service to begin at 7 PM.
