James Robert "Piddle" Hammond, 84, widower of Dian Hammond, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024. Born in Owen County, KY, he was the son of the late William Lee and Frances Wilson Hammond.

A retired supervisor with Trig Industrial in Frankfort, Piddle enjoyed fishing, hunting and all sports. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, he loved visiting Land Between the Lakes and his most enjoyable time working was as a cottage supervisor with Kentucky Village.

He is survived by his children, Shawna (Michael) Hobbs, James Richard Hammond, Michael (Melissa) Hammond and Robert (Donna) House; grandchildren, Amber Chun, James Michael Hammond, William Joseph Hammond, Logan Hobbs, Lindsey Hobbs, Tyler Brock, Braden Kirchner, Timothy House, Elijah House, Abigail House; great grandchildren, Addysen Little, Alexys Little, Ashtyn Little, Gretchen Powers, Waylon Powers, Colton Hammond, Jensen Hammond, Emmett Hammond and Brayden Gibbs; and three great great grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Paul Joseph Cantrell; brothers, Douglas, William and Dennis Hammond.

Funeral services will be 6 PM Thursday, September 12 at Johnson's Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4 PM till service time.
