Gwendolyn Meyer Burford, 90, widow of Donald Gene Burford, passed away on Sunday, December 6th, 2020. She was born on December 1st, 1930 in Charleston, West Virginia, daughter of the late Raymond E. and Helen C. (Campbell) Meyer. Gwen was a member of Dry Run Baptist Church. She enjoyed music, watching movies and loved to spend time with her family. She's lovingly remembered for her quick wit and sense of humor. Gwen was a loving mother to her daughter, Donna (John III) King; and affectionately called Nana by her three grandchildren, Rachel (Eric Winkle) Kendall, John (Kelly) King IV and Samuel (Junnadel) King and her eleven great-grandchildren, Jacob (Kaitlyn) Winkle, Jackson Kendall, Hannah (Mike) Winkle, Holly (Ethan) Lee, Emma King, Abby King, Johnny King V, Bella Gatewood, Caroline King, Vanessa Shelton and Annie King; and three great-great-grandchildren, Amelia Winkle, Logan Winkle and Canaan Adams; her beloved dogs, Nita, Lucy and Sadie. Services will be private. Burial will be in Georgetown Cemetery with Gwen's grandsons serving as pallbearers. Memorial contributions may be directed to your local Humane Society or Food Pantry.
