Obituary

George Eddie Marshall, 95, husband of Litha Hinton Marshall, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025. Born in Sadieville, KY, he was the son of the late Denny Truitt and JK Marshall.

He retired as an engineer with IBM after 29 years of service but was active with Tennessee walking horses and hunting dogs. An avid UK basketball and Scott County fan, he was very supportive and active with his grandchildren and great grandchildren's activities. A veteran of the US Air Force, he was a member of the American Legion Post 24 and enjoyed playing cards at the legion or bingo at Windsor Gardens.

In addition to his wife of 72 years, he is survived by his daughters, Arleen (Robert) Bidwell, Terry (Toby) Murray and Monica (John Thomson) Marshall; grandchildren, TG (Ashley) Murray, Tara Burke and Madison (Dominique) Ball; great grandchildren, Micaela McWilliams, Carson Murray, Brayden Beckett, Keaton Beckett, Cutler Murray, Aiden Murray, Trey Burke, Taytum Burke, Adrian Ball, Peyton Page, Mason Page and Ryder Ball. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Hall Marshall and great grandson, River Worth Murray.

Funeral services will be 11 AM Monday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Chester Palmer. Burial will follow at the Georgetown Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Casey Alsop, Chris Wallace, A.W. Hamilton, Toby Harris, Tim Glenn and Goo McIntyre. Honorary bearers will be Steve Delk, Glenn Kiser, Pete Short, Don Sparks, Richard Williams, Jim Woodrum, Bryce Long, Chris Willhite, Michael Moreno and Durbin Wallace. Visitation will be 2-6 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Windsor Gardens-Activities, 100 Windsor Path, Georgetown, KY 40324.
