Gary Lynn Broome, aged 68, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was the beloved husband of Glenda Enfusse Broome, with whom he shared countless precious moments.

Gary was born in Fleming-Neon, KY, the son of the late William Paul and Thelma Patton Broome. He dedicated 21 years of honorable service to the United States Air Force before retiring, leaving a mark of commitment and dedication to his country.

Throughout his life, Gary's love for music knew no bounds, embracing all genres and sharing his passion with his son, Travis. Their bond over music was profound and enduring, enriching their lives in countless ways. An avid sports enthusiast, Gary enjoyed playing tennis, golf, and football, and was an unwavering supporter of UK Football and Basketball.

Family was Gary's greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones. Welcoming grandfatherhood in 2013, he spent many summer days tending to his lawn, often with his grandson by his side on the lawnmower, creating cherished memories that will be forever rembered by his grandsons.

Gary's pride in his son, Travis, was immeasurable, finding joy in witnessing his numerous accomplishments over the years. He is also survived by his sister, Joyce Ann Welch, his brother, Kenneth Allen Broome, and his niece, Jeri Lee Wicker, along with her husband, Ed Wicker, and their daughters, Ashley, Kaylee, and Sydney, whom he watched with pride as they grew.

In addition to his immediate family, Gary leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Tiberius Baksh Broome and Augustus Enfusse Broome, who brought him immeasurable happiness and filled his life with laughter and wonder. As babies, Gary spent most nights changing diapers, feeding them and putting them back to sleep on his chest in his favorite recliner.

Preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joseph Edward Broome, Gary's memory will be forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-4 PM on Saturday at Johnson's Funeral Home, where friends and family will come together to honor and remember the remarkable life of Gary Lynn Broome. In his retirement, Gary found solace and contentment in the simple pleasures of life, often relaxing in his recliner while filling his home with the melodies of his favorite music.

Gary's kindness, warmth, and zest for life will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he loved. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that he shared so generously with the world.
