Gabriel Medina, born on December 3, 1976, in San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, at the age of 49, surrounded by the love of those who held him dear. He was called home to be with the Lord, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.

Gabriel was a devoted son, brother, and cherished family member whose presence brought comfort, warmth, and quiet strength to all who knew him. His kind heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten. He had a way of making others feel seen, supported, and cared for, and his memory will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents, Fernando Fernandez and Petra Gonzalez, who welcomed him with open arms. He is also lovingly remembered by his grandmother, Susie S. Fernandez, who continues to hold his memory close to her heart.

Gabriel is survived by his loving parents, Gloria F. Maldonado and Juan F. Maldonado, and his father, Pedro Medina. He also leaves behind his devoted siblings: Sonia A. Medina, Ruben J. Medina, Rosa L. Maldonado, Juan F. Maldonado Jr., Blanca A. Maldonado, Joe A. Maldonado, and Gabrielle Montoya. In addition, he is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will forever cherish the love and memories they shared with him.

Gabriel's life was a true blessing, and though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit will remain in the hearts of those who love him. He will forever be our guiding light—a steady lighthouse shining brightly, leading us with love, even from afar.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ortiz Mortuary Inc., Chapel A, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM.

On Wednesday, April 22, 2026, a procession will depart Ortiz Mortuary at 10:00 AM for a Mass of the Resurrection at St. Jude's Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery III.
