Frank Carew Darnell, Sr, 89, widower of Betty Jo Darnell, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025. Born in Scott County, he was the son of the late Davis and Ruth Thornsberry Darnell.

A retired supervisor with the Scott County Roads Department, he loved to farm, enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Corinth Christian Church.

He is survived by his sons, Ricky Darnell and Tommy (Mary) Darnell; grandchildren, Gregory Darnell, Julia (Robbie) Huellemeier, Austin (Kelli) Myers, Kevin (Theresa) Darnell, Jennifer (Beau) Covey, Eric Darnell and Bradley (Haley) Darnell; great grandchildren, Gwyneth & Owen Huellemeier, Jesse Myers, Jordan Darnell, Trace Darnell, Addison Darnell, Briana Maggard, Colin Covey, Cooper and Savannah Darnell; great great granddaughter, Alayna Darnell; sister, Donna Lee Milner; brothers, Richard "Dicky" Darnell, Johnny Darnell, Gary Darnell and Ronnie Darnell; daughter in law, Donna Darnell; special caregiver, Margaret Masterson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews including Todd Darnell and Pam Dunn. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Frank Darnell, Jr and daughter in law, Audrey Darnell, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 1 PM Wednesday at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Paul Waddelow. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery, Stamping Ground, KY. John Ruber, Terry Garrison and the grandsons will serve as casket bearers. Honorary bearers will be Todd Darnell, Junior Wright, David Darnell and Jimmy Vance. Visitation will be 11 AM till service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Corinth Christian Church.
