Fr. Kiran Kumar Varaparla, 39, parish priest of St. Julian Catholic Church in Middlesboro, KY and St. Anthony Catholic Church in Pineville, KY, passed away suddenly on October 31, 2021 at the Middlesboro ARH.

He was born May 1, 1982 in Mangapuram, Khammam, Telagana, India. He was a member of the Missionary Society of the Heralds of Good News. He was ordained as a priest on April 19, 2010.

He is survived by his father, Apparao Varaparla and his mother, Kanakaratnam Varaparla.

A brother, Kishore Varaparla

A sister, Vasantha Varaparla all of whom reside in India.

His passing will also be mourned by his many friends as well as his current and past parishioners.
Additional visitation will be 7-9 PM Thursday at Cathedral of Christ the King, Lexington, KY with a vigil service beginning at 7 PM. The funeral mass will be 11 AM Friday at Cathedral of Christ the King.

Burial will be in his home country of India with his family.
