Faye Parker Marshall, 92, widow of Harold Thomas Marshall, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025. Born August 15, 1932 in Sadieville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Charles Leon and Ruby Brannock Parker.
Faye was a member of Georgetown Baptist Church and served as the Director for the Women's Missionary Union. Faye and Harold were one of six couples that helped to become church planters for Mallard Point Baptist Church in its early beginnings. When the missionary field called for help, she supported Harold as he went to work in a refugee camp in Thailand, where they had a heart for helping the Vietnamese people. A member of the Georgetown College Woman's Association, she worked part time at Craven's Jewelry and Suff's Furniture and was especially known for her love of butterflies.
Faye is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Tanya and David Poer and Karen and Sam Juett; her six adopted sons and daughters-in-law, Thanh and Thanh Van Le, Nhan Nguyen, Long and Chi Nguyen, Thomas and Amy Nguyen, Son and Anna Nguyen and Van Nguyen; her grandchildren, Lauren (Matthew) Popp, Lindsay (Gilbert) Singletary, Logan Poer, Maria Juett, Anna Juett, Tammy Van Le, Tommy Van Le, Kelly Jo Lee Nguyen, Alan Nguyen, Celina Nguyen, James Nguyen, Steven Nguyen; her great-grandchildren, Kaymen Singletary, Emersyn Singletary, Norah Singletary, Kruz Singletary, Halle Kate, Nox, Davis and Caroline Popp; two sisters, Molly Carroll and Judy Thompson; brother, George (Nellie) Parker; sister-in-law, Joyce Parker; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sally Kitchen; and brothers, Don Leon Parker and Bob Parker; daughter-in-law, Anita Jo Nguyen; one grandson, Brian Nguyen.
The family would like to say thanks to the wonderful caretakers who took care of "Mrs. Faye" for the last 2 years. A special thanks to Devin Fightmaster who has been an invaluable friend and caregiver.
Funeral services will be 12 PM Monday, February 24, 2025 at Johnson's Funeral Home, conducted by Pastor Nathaniel Price. Burial will be in The Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, Kentucky. Serving as casket bearers will be David Poer, Dr. Sam Juett, Matthew Popp, Thanh Van Le, Nhan Nguyen, Long Nguyen, Son Nguyen, Thomas Nguyen and Dr. Gil Singletary. Visitation will be 10 AM till service time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Faye Marshall Memorial Missions Scholarship, 641 S. Broadway, Georgetown, Kentucky 40324. The funds will be directed to scholarships for people who are called into missionary work and to help assist them with expenses. Memorials may also be made to Bluegrass Hospice Care, 1317 US-62, Cynthiana, KY 41031. Hospice was a wonderful help to Faye and support for her family.
