It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Zeke Perez, who departed this life peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Zeke was born on January 8, 1948, in San Jose, California and raised in Zapata, Texas. He served honorably in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

He is preceded in death by his parents Adalberto Perez and Phyllis Guevara and brother Erineo Perez.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, integrity, and a commitment to his family/friends and community. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria; his 7 siblings; Rosa Maria Guevara, Daniel Perez (Alta Garcia) Ricardo Perez (Linda), Adalberto Perez, Jr., Delma Vela, Maricella Perez, and Margarita Villareal (Ruben); his children, Rocio Aguilar (Norberto), Roxanna Perez, and Esiquio Guadalupe Perez, Jr. (Marisol); and two grandchildren Issac Aguilar (Marie) and Serina Aguilar (Kayla). His two stepchildren Ginger Hernandez (Anthony) and James Troutz as well as his loving dogs Becca and Bella.

Visitation Services will be held on September 10, 2025, between 4:00pm-9:00pm and with a Rosary at 6:00pm at Ortiz Mortuary, located at 3114 Culebra Road, San Antonio, Texas 78228.

Services will be held on. September 11, 2025 at St John The Evangelist Catholic Church located at 4603 St John's Way, San Antonio, TX 78212 mass at 9:00am with everyone to meet at church with arrival time at Ft. Sam at 1045 and Procession and Interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
