Major Enoch L. "Nick" Raybourn, III, passed away, Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born December 26, 1941 in Ashland, KY, he was the son of the late Enoch L. "Bud" Raybourn, Jr and Alice Howard Raybourn.

He grew up in Olive Hill, KY graduating from Olive Hill High School in 1959. He graduated from Morehead State College in 1965 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He entered the US Army in 1966, completing Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training at Ft. Knox, KY. He entered Officer Candidate School at Ft. Knox, being commissioned a 2nd LT. He retired after 27 ½ years from the US Army and the Kentucky Army National Guard as Executive Officer of the 201st Engineering Division, having served in Vietnam and Germany. He received the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Achievement Medal and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with palm. He also received the German Army Schutzenschnurr Marksmanship Medal.

Nick was a member of the Olive Hill Masonic Lodge #629, 32nd Degree. He was Past Chairman of the Geiger Easter Seal Speech and Hearing Center Board of Directors, served on the Kentucky Easter Seals Board, was Past Chairman of the March of Dimes Walk America and committee member of the March of Dimes, Ashland, KY Chapter. He was a member of BPO Elks Lodge 350; Life member of VFW and American Legion. He was a member of the Retired Officers Association (Military) and a member of First Christian Church, Disciple of Christ, Ashland, KY, serving as a Deacon, Elder and Pacesetters as well as a member of the Kentucky Regional Men's Chorus.

Nick enjoyed travelling, having been to all 7 continents and over 80 different countries. He took up reading later in life, loved to cook and was famous for his homemade gravy at the church Men's Breakfast.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joyce S. Raybourn.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kemper Raybourn, Grayson; one daughter, Pamela R. (Tracy) Caudill, Cincinnati, OH; step children, D. Grant (Pam) Bolt, Georgetown, KY and Mayme G. (J.T. Tang) Bolt, St. Charles, MO; brother, James B. (Joan) Raybourn, Virginia Beach, VA; nieces, Melissa Thomas and Ashley Bohm; step grandchildren, Lauren and Drew Bolt; as well as many cousins including a special cousin, Jan (Mac) Langford.

Funeral services will be 7 PM Wednesday at First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, Ashland, KY. Visitation will be 5 PM till service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be 11 AM Thursday at Grayson Memorial Park, Grayson, KY.
