Emerald Alys Ramirez-Asevedo, was a smart, beautiful, loving, and caring woman. She was passionate at her job working for CPS (Child Protective Services), and previous job as a school teacher. She loved to travel, especially to Disneyland her magical place on earth. She also loved her mother, father, brothers, sisters, her whole family, friends, her son and her husband. She graduated from Kennedy high school and then to college at St. Philips and got her associates, then she went to Texas A&M San Antonio where she graduated with a Bachelors in teaching, and finally she was working on her Master's Degree in Social Work. At work she was known for putting in more work for her kids than she needed to and always helped wherever she could, I remember her coming home to tell me all about what happened and what she was dealing with that day. She really loved what she did so much she would work a shift that is known as CWAP. It's taking care of kids as a ward of the state. She always worked the midnight to 4am shift and was known to also help her coworkers out if they needed to give their shift away. That big, beautiful heart is why all the kids loved and respected her so much and would always do what was asked of them. The people in her life loved her for the selfless person she was and for the love she gave even if they didn't deserve it, she was the rock if the family and heart of all of us lost so much with her. Emerald will forever be loved and missed, and she will always be in our hearts and minds because of the loving and beautiful person she was.
