Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" Brame Cruse passed on to be with her Lord on March 17, 2024. She leaves behind her husband Darrell, her two daughters Rev. Stacey DeAnn Cruse of Georgetown and Melissa Cruse Hill (Rich) of Durham, N.C. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Nicholas Pennington of Crestone, CO., Daniel Pennington (Ana), of Durham, N.C., Ben Hill (Katie) and Lydia Eagle (Adam) of Nashville, TN; great grandchild, Grayson Pennington. Betty also leaves behind a brother Dan Brame (Susie) of Portland, OR. She is preceded in death by her parents Dan and Louise Brame and a sister Barbara Brame Sterchi. She loved her husband and daughters and grandchildren beyond description. The day she went to her heavenly home her granddaughter went to the hospital to deliver Betty's second great grandson.

Betty and her husband met at Georgetown College where she lacked .01 graduating with honors. She and her husband were missionaries in North Brazil for seven years. On their return when Darrell became the pastor of Gano Ave. Baptist Church where Betty was the organist forthirteen years. She was an avid reader, loved children and her home.

Visitation will be 12:30 PM till service time at 1:30 PM, Thursday, March 21, 2024, conducted by Rev. William Reilly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Appalachian Literacy Initiative, PO Box 3283, Bristol, TN 37625.
