Edith "Edie" Lane Racette, 74, passed away Friday, May 22, 2026. Edie was born to the late Florence Elizabeth Singleton Racette and Lawrence Edward Racette Sr, on December 21, 1951, in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Edie earned her associate's degree in graphic design from Tidewater Community College and later worked as an auto worker for Ford automotive for 20 years before retiring. She was a free spirit who enjoyed the arts and lived an active life making others smile with her humor. Edie enjoyed drawing, architecture, and antiques such as her dolls.

Edie is survived by her sisters, Elizabeth Green and Joyce Nichols; nieces, Emily Porter, Elissa Porter, Rebecca Wilson Gillman, and Nichole Nichols; nephews; Wiley Porter and Stephen Nichols; many grand- nieces and nephews; and dear friend, Suzette Walters.

Edie was preceded in death by her brother Lawrence Edward Racette Jr and sister, Theresea Gail Wilson.
