Dora Mae (New) Allen, 96, widow of Reverend James Allen, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023. She was born on January 6, 1927 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, daughter of the late William "Willie" M. New and Jane (Deaton) New. Dora was a devoted Pastor's wife and member of Greater Faith Apostolic Church. She enjoyed reading, working word search puzzles, quilting and sewing.
Dora is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Rodney Conner; three grandchildren, Tanya (Monroe) Clemons, Joshua Conner and Rebekah (Todd) Ison; twelve great-grandchildren, Austin Gilbert, Taylor Gilbert, Blake Gilbert, Carlie (Miguel Alfaro) Gilbert, Michael Gilbert, Emily Gilbert, Aiden Conner, Adalynn Conner, Abigal Ison, Alivia-Kate Conner, Owen Ison and Briar-Rose Conner; five great-great grandchildren, Jordan Villasana, J'Vaughn Walker, Izabella Bravo,
JaKobe Gilbert and Dalilah Alfaro and two great-great granddaughters on the way; numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Dora was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Gilbert and one grandson, James "Jay" Gilbert.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Greater Faith Apostolic Church from 10am until time of service at 1pm with Pastor William McGraw and Reverend Todd Ison officiating. Private burial will be in Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Joshua Conner, Austin Gilbert, Jordan Villasana, Michael Gilbert, Blake Gilbert and Miguel Alfaro. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Aiden Conner, Jaxson Bevins, J'Vaughn Walker, JaKobe Gilbert and Owen Ison.
