Derrick Stephen Beasley a son, grandson, brother, father, nephew, and grandfather passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at the age of 44. He was surrounded by loved ones. After a long hard fight he ended his journey here, and began another in Heaven.
Whether you knew him as Dee, Bubby, Uncle, Pops, Daddy, or best friend, to know him was to love him.
With a smile as large as his heart, and a laugh as contagious as the love he spread, Derrick Beasley completed the race and has fulfilled his earthly mission.
Born on February 6, 1980 in Lexington KY, he is the son of Rebecca Beasley Jardinez and the late Donald "Duck" Harris.
Former Pastor Derrick always had a love for the Church, and continued to be actively involved as he could while doing the things he loved most. He was an avid UK fan and jokester, who truly enjoyed fishing, camping, singing, playing the piano/drums, as well as spending time with his family. The hearts and souls that he has reached, touched, and inspired is without number, and he will truly be missed beyond measure.
In addition to his mother Rebecca, Derrick is survived by his two daughters Alyssa (Kenny Cole) Beasley and Lyn'Den Paige Beasley, along with his two grandchildren, Kalani Cole and Ki'Ran Cole and his best friend Aubriana Johnson. His special Honorary children does include Juan Godoy, Dyana Delvalle, Luis Tapia, Diego Mandujano, Alina Mandujano, Kiante King, Aaliyah Jackson and De'Von Beasley. His sisters and brothers, Kimberly, Emily (Kimberly) Beasley, Donna, Winifred, Tony, Angie, Shon, Darnell, Starlene, Donald Wayne, Shanta, Antoinette, Nelle, April, and Donald Jr. and all of their spouses. A special mention to his Aunt, Karen "KK" Hannah, and Uncle Paul Beasley. He has a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly and deeply.
Besides his father Donald, Derrick was preceded in death by his special Uncles Stephen Beasley and James "Jim-Bob" Beasley, as well as his Grandmothers Margaret Beasley and Lovester Harris. He was also preceded by his two brothers Stephen "Stevie" Harris, Tracy Harris, and his Uncle Ralph Harris and Aunt Phyllis Butler.
Visitation will be Monday, July 8, 2024 at Johnson's Funeral Home from 10:30 am until time of service at noon with Pastor Thomas White, Pastor Terry Lewis, and Pastor Steve Masters officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
