David H. Gregg, 82, husband of Gabriele Funke Gregg, peacefully passed away in his sleep July 25, 2025. Born in Kalamazoo, MI, he was the son of the late Robert & Virginia Setz Gregg.
A very well respected businessman, Dave opened the Goodyear Tire Center in Georgetown, KY in 1974 and over nearly the next 30 years, was the "go to" for many small town residents for their trusted auto service, Goodyear tires, and General Electric appliances. Dave was always passionate about making sure his customers were always 100% satisfied with the products and services his business was providing.
When not chatting with and pleasing his store customers, he enjoyed time with family, a large garden, bass fishing with local clubs & tournaments, walking the local farm fields hunting for arrowheads and also had a keen drive to research personal investments and grow and organize his incredible stamp collection. A University of Kentucky basketball fanatic, he was an avid golfer, volleyball player, and even played pickleball until he was 80 years of age. RV travel with his wife to all parts of the United States and spending winters in FL filled his time in retirement.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his son, David S. (Cheri) Gregg; grandchildren, Kelsey Gregg (Raleigh, NC), Caleb Gregg (Salt Lake City, UT), and Korey Gregg (Lexington, KY); siblings, Donald Gregg (Cincinnati, OH), Patricia Young (Cincinnati, OH), Ginny Allen (Highlands Ranch, CO), and Susan Fox (Austin, TX).
Services will be private.
